CLOSING NIGHT SECTION

Tully

Reception to Follow

Director Hilary Birmingham brings emotional sensitivity and a tremendously skillful eye to her feature debut--about a Nebraska farmer and his two sons struggling to understand how love both unites them and separates them. Tully Coates (Anson Mount) is the local heartthrob, and while he has a new girlfriend every night, he is confounded by what to do when he actually feels love. Earl (Glenn Fitzgerald), his younger brother, is more serious and reserved, while Tully Senior seems burdened by a lasting sadness. A nuanced story set against the beautiful Great Plains of Nebraska, Tully is about life in the heartland, learning how to grow up, and knowing when to love.
