
Each year, the MNTV program brings the work of emerging film and video artists selected by a panel of representatives from IFP, Intermedia Arts, and the Walker Art Center to the Twin Cities Public Television viewing audience.

If We Knew Their Stories by Ch s Newberry
In this short documentary, doctors in three cities give us a glimpse into the lives of their refugee patients. These refugees shed new light on the immigrant experience as they come to grips with their harrowing journeys.
Scrum in the Mud by Simone Ahuja
A counterbalance to typical portrayals of South Asians in the media, this film champions rugby in a cricket-dominated nation. It was filmed on location in Mumbai, India, and exemplifies athleticism and intense physicality in South Asians.
Dreaming in Morocco by Pamela Nice
Dreaming in Morocco profiles the dreams of nine young Moroccans from different backgrounds and parts of Morocco. Whether studying at a university, working in business, or seeking a better life abroad, their hopes suggest Morocco’s future.

The Mallorys Go Black Market by JoEllen Martinson and William Rees
In this cheeky love letter to 1980’s clothing, a pair of Big Apple fashionistas and their artist sidekick embrace the thrills of materialism in their scheme to export two suitcases worth of vintage casual wear to unfortunate teenagers through the Russian black market.
Dressing an Ape in Armani by Daniel Lee Orozco
The story of Cupid – a hard-drinking, bitter Cupid – who would like nothing more than to be unemployed. In order to guarantee his freedom, Cupid takes matters (and panties) into his own hands.
You’ll Be Fine by Catrin Magnusson
This film is about the ties between two sisters in the midst of an unstable home life. Claire wants nothing more than to skip town and forget about her absent mother and her mother’s foul boyfriend. But on her way out of town, Claire runs head-to-head with her younger sister, and she begins to realize that freedom has a price.

A self-proclaimed inventor, in a bout of generosity, picks up an unkempt and devious drifter in the backwoods of Wisconsin. After sharing his story ofi Ingenuity and fortune, he wonders if he’s revealed too much of his great idea. The answer lies somewhere between genius and insanity.

Plant by The Body Cartography Project
Plant engages us in a visceral, painterly and sometimes humorous hallucination amidst the ruins of an abandoned bomb factory in Minnesota. Like an alternative music video where the music consists of a bullet rolling across broken cement, three men engage in acts of quiet violence and noisy interaction.
Holiday House by The Body Cartography Project
On holiday the normal sequence of time unravels. Regular activities, chores and spatial awareness of ordinary places are deconstructed or completely altered. In the space of relaxing (or trying to), perception bends. Reality shifts. Apply this condition to your house and home becomes a holiday house.
Vuuwerk 2 Degrees by Tom Schroeder
"Vuurwerk" means firework in Dutch. These "firework" pieces are
collaborations with Schroeder’s wife, Hilde De Roover. She constructs the sound
from noises that they've made and he animates to the audio track, exploring
the possibilities of generating the animation directly in Adobe AfterEffects.
Bartok Cloudswing Remix by Tom Schroeder
In this animation, the elements for a hand-drawn cartoon called "The Mexican Cloud
Swing Disaster" are set to the fourth movement of Bela Bartok's Fifth String Quartet.
Up by Amber Ellison
Up torques the rules of gravity to create a landscape that is both twisted and liberating, urban and funny. It asks: how do we continue to dance in a world lacking a sense of direction? Performers include Kim Richardson, Laura Selle Virucio and Jesse Walker.
C. Beck by Mike Hazard and Deb Wallwork
We see artist Charles Beck at work in his studio in Fergus Falls and painting in the countryside nearby. He speaks about the beauty of nature, scavenging materials, and the mystery of art.
Twelve Moons on Gichigami by Mark Ryan
The moods and seasons of Lake Superior presented with images gathered over a year’s time from the Canal Park web cam in Duluth. Approximately 1500 frames were captured off the internet from the filmmaker’s home in Minneapolis between April 2005 and April 2005.
