About IFP Minnesota's Cinema Lounge:
Hosted by Dan Orozco, Programmed by Paul Clark
What: The original short film showcase featuring MN work by local, indie filmmakers.
Where: Bryant-Lake Bowl Theater, 810 West Lake St., Minneapolis
When: 3rd Wednesday of each month, at 7:00PM
Admission: FREE!

Are you sitting on an old student film that hasn't seen the light of day? Think it's too hard or expensive to get a decent venue in which to screen your work? Or maybe you're of the movie-going persuasion and think that there's no place to see great independent film? Nothing good happening locally? Hogwash. Cinema Lounge is like the cute, chubby little cupid that brings these two lost souls together. Local filmmakers have a cool, relaxed venue to screen their latest work, and the average Joe has a spot to come and see the best indie shorts coming out of Minnesota today. The best part? It's all FREE.

The Lounge: Short Films. Indie Filmmakers. Hell yes.
Cinema Lounge happens the third Wednesday of each month at the Bryant Lake Bowl theater. IFP staff member Paul Clark programs a lineup of 4-5 locally made shorts (20 minutes or less) to screen each month. We mix it up with anything and everything: narratives, docs, music videos, animation, experimental -- almost anything goes. After each film, you get to meet the mind behind the film, as host Dan Orozco conducts a 5-10 minute Q+A session with the filmmaker and audience.

The Mission: You + Clounge = Sweet, Sweet Cinematic Bliss
Cinema Lounge provides a venue for filmmakers who normally wouldn't have a place to screen their work, whether it's due to a shoe-string budget or edgy, alternative content preventing them from finding a home at the local megaplex. Plus, involving the audience with the Q+A allows the filmmakers to get genuine feedback from discerning viewers. Finally, it's a hangout for filmmakers, producers, screenwriters, - anyone - to network afterwards and meet like-minded folks, possibly forming contacts for future projects. And, hey, for the average Joe, it's free entertainment.

The Films: SUBMIT!!
ANYONE CAN SUBMIT A FILM!! While submission does NOT guarantee that your film will be screened, there is no submission fee. So if you'd like to be the next filmmaker to screen with us, call Paul at (651) 644-1912, or download a submission form here and send it in with your work (20 min. or less) on DVD or VHS to:
